Course Numbers

As a student, it is your responsibility to check with the appropriate official at the degree-granting institution to make certain the course(s) taken will apply toward your degree.

It is important to choose courses which are appropriate to your educational needs and abilities. If you are interested in receiving credit which will apply toward a particular degree or certificate, review your plan of study with an appropriate advisor in your field of study.

Courses in this bulletin are arranged in an alphabetical listing by academic subject matter. Within each subject heading, courses are listed by level of instruction. This level of instruction is indicated by course numbers:

  • 100-199 or 1000-1999:

    freshman level

  • 200-299 or 2000-2999:

    sophomore level

  • 300-399 or 3000-3999:

    junior level

  • 400-499 or 4000-4999:

    senior level

  • 500+ or over 5000:

    These numbers usually refer to graduate-level courses. Depending on the program and the offering institution, undergraduates may enroll in many of these courses.
